Executive Messages

Greetings from the
Executive Director...

The New Year is a great time for possibility thinking and dream building. Success takes analysis, review and planning to cover the basics, a bit of dreaming to push us further to stretch our boundaries, a lot of hard work, and hope for a touch of luck.

At the GGBA, our number one goal for 2012 is to increase membership. Why? It's how member-based organizations are judged. But it's not just about growing our membership for the metrics; it's about having a stronger presence in our community. Simply put, the larger our organization, the louder our voice.

Our members and sponsors deserve a strong ROI from the GGBA. A lot is new this year; new office, new ED, new Board and Executive Committee...and new systems will follow. We're going to do our part this year to increase member and sponsor value and benefits. Our plans are to increase the number of educational programs: to offer additional networking events and expand the BEN program, to expand our programs to the East Bay, the North Bay and the South Bay, and to improve our communications.

Thank you to those who plan to rejoin this year, and we encourage you to ask others to join as well. We can double our membership if each current member brings in one new member! And for those of you who are just thinking about joining, we hope that you do.

We wish for you and your organization a year that is filled with positive results, accomplishment, satisfaction and joy.

Happy 2012!

Pat Mayfield
